...and SBCC students seek representation.
Inspired by student activism across the country, SBCC students organized and drafted a Constitution for a new Association that would amplify their voice and advocate for their interests.
The Associated Student Government was born.
Filled with optimism and excitement, what would this new government do?
For decades, the ASG has been the very cornerstone of our student body.
ASG Officers and Senators have worked passionately each year to enrich SBCC socially, academically, politically, and culturally and to represent the student perspective for issues big and small.
The ASG has always remained on the forefront to help build the best community college in the world.
And we don't plan on stopping.
We're aspiring leaders of the 21st century.
We've come a long way since 1961, but our Mission in this new millennium has remained the same.
We tirelessly advocate for students' interests.
Whether we're in front of our SBCC's Board of Trustees or the California state legislature, we work diligently to make our students heard.
We work to ensure opportunity for all.
Diversity, inclusion, and compassion are among our chief values.
We push our school forward.
We're firm believers in progress. We know that our work is never finished, and that there's always room to accomplish even more.
