An effort to end student hunger and homelessness

College Affordability for Santa Barbara County.

Over 20,000 Santa Barbara County public college students face hunger or homelessness each year. We are calling for Santa Barbara County leaders to create a Basic Needs Grant Program to address this college affordability crisis.

Show County Leaders Why College Student Basic Needs Insecurity is a Community Crisis!

Please join us on October 11th in Corwin Pavillon to show our support for our Basic Needs Grant Program proposal.

We must show county leaders why college student basic needs insecurity is a community crisis and why tax revenue from cannabis cultivation should be used as a solution.

There will be an opportunity to give public comment, ask your elected officials basic needs questions, and meet the folks that are pushing for college affordability in Santa Barbara County and across the nation.

Date & Time: Friday, October 11th, 3:30pm-6pm. Please RSVP even if you can only attend for part of the meeting.

3:30-4pm: FREE FOOD. 4pm-5:30: Town Hall. 5:30-6pm: Basic Needs resource fair.

Location: Corwin Pavilion, 552 University Rd, Isla Vista, California 93101.

Details: Our goal is to show our elected officials why our Basic Needs Grant Program will address our county’s basic needs crisis. We will meet in the Corwin Pavilion courtyard at 3:30pm to meet coalition partners and share a meal. You can share your experiences with basic needs insecurity during the public comment period.
