As the new Student Advocate in Spring 2017, Adriana hopes to empower and advocate for marginalized students at Santa Barbara City College and help ensure they have the best experience they can.

Adriana is a first-year international student majoring in Computer Information Systems. Originally from Latvia and South Africa, she came to Santa Barbara in August of 2016 to pursue her dream of attending college in the United States. She hopes to transfer to a 4-year university and earn a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, and aspires to one day have a job in the software industry.

Day of Tolerance

Adriana is leading the organization of SBCC's first Day of Tolerance, a one-day event that will celebrate students from all corners of our campus, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, and dietary orientation. The day will be filled with activities geared towards building a more tolerant world.
